My Healing Journey — Why I Built a Home for Healing
From a resection survivor to founder of Tu Casita Wellness. Why I'm sharing the lived-experience of gut-healing re-education.
My name is Grisel, and I’ve spent the better part of the last decade trying to build my own home for healing.
I’m a resection survivor, a Crohn’s warrior, and someone who knows the exact layout of every bathroom in every airport between here and Puerto Rico. For years, I felt like a patient, not a person. Doctors gave me clinical advice, but I needed practical, lived-experience solutions.
The Gap in Localized Gut Health
Whether it was Bile Acid Diarrhea (BAD) or the simple fear of a business dinner, I felt overwhelmed by the “perfect” diet advice that always seemed to leave me feeling worse.
I realized that healing is not linear. It’s also not just about what you eat. It’s about how you ground your nervous system, how you re-educate your digestive tract, and how you recalibrate your entire lifestyle.
Building Tu Casita
I didn’t want to build just another website or another course. I wanted to build a “home.”
- A home for education: Where you can learn the ‘why’ behind your symptoms.
- A home for community: Where you aren’t the only one dealing with urgency.
- A home for transformation: Where you move from reactive to empowered.
This is my journey, and this is the community I’m building. From our 30-Day Gut Healing Program to our future retreat center in Puerto Rico—your healing has a home here.
